WE have been playing this song and dance for too long! There is no reason why Leonard Peltier should die in prison OR even be in prison!. Adequate healthcare is a RIGHT of ALL people!! The United States denial of political prisoners will not make them go away; the world knows! Denying Leonard Pelitier accessible and adequate care for his medical conditions is akin to torture!! The United States is promoted as a compassionate country ready to stand up against adversity, willing to examine and amend erroneous mistakes made against political prisoners, demand medical care for them and strive for their freedom. In spite of these claims, Leonard Peltier remains a political prisoner, the evidence that proves his innocence ignored and his medical needs to be at the Mayo Clinic disregarded. During the 2009 White House Tribal Nations Conference, President Obama stated, "I know what it means to feel ignored and forgotten and what it means to struggle," he said. "So you will not be forgotten as long as I'm in this White House." President Obama, that statement is just as valid for Leonard Peltier as it is for all of us First Nations People. Leonard Peltier is a respected Elder, he deserves the quality of medical care available at the Mayo Clinic and he deserves to return home as a free man. Honor your promises, Mr. President and ensure Leonard Peltier medical treatment at the Mayo Clinic and grant this innocent man his freedom.REPORT COMMENTS

He hs been assigned to the Rochester facility before so that he could receive medical attention at the Mayo Clinic in the past.
