Horses have fought in every war, built our railroad, carried our mail, transported our families and plowed our field. What would we be without their sacrifice? They deserve better! Stop killing the horses and poisoning the world! For America to be great it needs to be HONEST and MORAL!May 31st, 2016Someone from Corbett, OR writes:
Horses are routinely treated with medications not safe for human consumption. Wormer every 6 to 8 wks, pain meds, anti-inflamitory meds are all used regularly even on a hobby farm.REPORT COMMENTS

It's the responsible thing to do. Pass the safe food export act. In talking with Hispanic friends across the border. They have no idea that poison horsemeat is being shipped to their country and slaughtered in their country and processed and sold as food. All the unassuming children being fed this meat! The Americans need to set the standard. We must lead by example. Sadly, we are doing a very poor job. I always considered this country, the United States a world leader, we have fallen so far from what we were put on this beautiful planet to be. Horses are given many medications which are known contributors to cancer in humans. It's the responsible thing to do. Please, pass the safe food export act. S1214 HR1942. This is the 21st-century. We rely on our government as federal tax payers to hear the voice of the people. I don't want to be betrayed by my own government. It's the absolute responsible thing to do. The data is in.REPORT COMMENTS

Horses are administered various drugs during their lifetime, most of which are toxic and/or cancer causing in humans. Many of these drugs remain in the body of the horse long after it is slaughtered, to be consumed by people who are not aware of this fact.REPORT COMMENTS

This is disgraceful, that the US and all it humanitarian work done globally, all the money we have paid out to help others to our own detriment. And we are allowing what could be poison in to the global food supply, then Congress removes our safety net where it's even coming back into our own Country? Please what is the logic behind these moves. If it's too many horses make some legislation to cut registrations, by 50%, If the Goverment can step in and stop mergers of companies, surely it can help curb the insane breeding. If you cut how many horses that can be registered it may not be immediate but if Breeders can't get but so many Registries per year they can't make the money on grade horses so I believe given time the gross amount of horses being foaled would diminish. Please look in to the waste of breeding.REPORT COMMENTS

This is long over due! Please protect the Global food supply by passing the Safe Act! The medications given to our horses are not approved for use in animals meant for consumption. There is no way to monitor or regulate the meds they are given thus they should not be incorporated into the global food supply! Horse DNA has been found in ground beef here in the USA so it really is a dangerous problem!REPORT COMMENTS
