Fedral Feloney conviction is a life sentence and it is death sentence for employment. The stigma of feloney shawdows day and night and prevents any meaningful employment forever.A first time, non-violent offender who has paid their full debt deserves a second chance, a fresh start.REPORT COMMENTS

It is ABOUT time this happens!!! PASS this in the name of Civil Rights! My son lives in Texas and had a felony when he was 19/20 - and now he is 38 with that felony still on his record - and has NOT had any problems with the law since that time! How can you EVER expect anyone to overcome their pasts? I noticed 3 Texas members on the Judiciary Committee and we ALL know how "forgiving" Texas is about Criminals. ANTIQUATED THINKING IF THIS IS NOT PASSED. Texas puts them on Probation for a felony and until they DIE it remains on their record so they cannot get a decent paying job - even with GOOD BEHAVIOR. AND Texas does not seem to have a very good record approving EXPUNCTIONS !!!! I'm not excusing his behavior - but I do believe he deserves a second and decent chance to be treated like a CITIZEN!!REPORT COMMENTS

This bill will allow first time offenders to get a job and not to continue on the same cycle due to lack of job opportunities.REPORT COMMENTS

I believe anyone who has been convicted of a 'non-violent crime- who has served the sentence successfully and met all conditions such as restitution, probation or parole, and who has not been convicted again should be allowed to remove the 'stigma' that seems to haunt them for the rest of their lives. Give folks another chance to once again live as good law-abiding citizens!REPORT COMMENTS
