I am a uniformed police officer of the United States Postal Service. I face the same people that any other officer of the state or municipality would face. We do not have a the duty to retreat; we are trained to face any active shooter or to go into neighborhoods like any other police officer who do get the benefits!REPORT COMMENTS

This bill has been long over due. Anyone who has the authority by law to arrest a person inside these United States, carry a weapon with the authority to use deadly force and has the title of Police Officer on their credentials is a law enforcement officer. When ISIS comes banging the front door of federal buildings and threatens employees safety it will be the so called non law enforcement officers who will be engaging these bad guys. Give these employees the long waiting benefits to the men and women who put themselves between the good and the bad guys. we all deserve this long over due recognition.REPORT COMMENTS

Congress please pass this legislation and recognize that federal police officers who currently don't meet the definition of LEO are as highly trained and face the same dangers as their colleagues who currently do meet the definition of LEO. As a VA Police Officer I do face the dangers as other LEO, we do deserve the same retirement as other LEO'S. Thank you for doing the right thing pass the H.R. 2254, the "Law Enforcement Officers Equity Act," as soon a possible.REPORT COMMENTS
