I want to work / contribute to this nation. I also want to financially support my family. Staying at home would rust me and my talents.Dec 2nd, 2014Someone from Norwood, MA writes:
The H4 policy is violation of human rights. They have closed all doors for us. I have Master's degree in HR from India and I don't wish to study further. Since I'm not an IT person and with gap in career its difficult to get H1 visa. H4 visa makes us feel useless and non existent. Single person's salary is not enough in US. Everything is so expensive - education, doctor visit, food. How can you save for future? What a waste of human resource, which is so SO eager to contribute and grow.REPORT COMMENTS

Its high time to stop thinking we are doing something for our improvement. Actually we are unable to do anything to improve our career life or even be in touch with our subject of past experience. Its ruining our self esteem. Please help us come out of it soon.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm currently on H4 dependent visa and I would strongly recommend the signing of this rule asap. I'm very talented with a 10 plus years of work experience prior to moving here. It's a bummer that I cannot work currently with my visa since I do not have technical skills. I would highly recommend the rule so as to have talented people like me to start working and contributing towards the economy of the nation.REPORT COMMENTS

Denial to work is a basic human rights violation, its really partial and unfair to let another type of visa holders dependents work and not H4 spouses to workREPORT COMMENTS

Please allow all h4 visa holders to work, its really feels bad sitting home wasting time and talent, why do have 2 different parameter sets by allowing some people to work some to let their own condition with no options, they have only one option either left country without their spouse or just sit and think what nextREPORT COMMENTS

If they are qualified and passionate about building their career and to work, these dependent H4 indian women should have come on work visa instead of taking a short cut of marrying some guy and then attain work visa merely by the qualification of being some ones wife. There are thousands of well educated, qualified girls in India who are working very hard and trying to take the right path and get a work visa instead of taking short cuts.REPORT COMMENTS

Let the educational qualifications, skills, experiences and job market decide whether to hire H4 visa person or not; Visa type should not restrict H4 person. Change the rule and allow H4 to work.REPORT COMMENTS

Please approve this rule! My wife is very talent and skill equipped. She want to contribute to the society and develop her career instead of staying at home all the time and do nothing. It's very difficult for her to get the H1 for her background since she's not an engineer. Please approve this rule ASAP, please.REPORT COMMENTS

Please pass this rule soon. My wife was on H1 before, but had to quit job due to a difficult pregnancy. She is on H4 and now to get back on H1, we are close to 6 years and hence its been difficult to find a sponsor. Passing this rule soon would help many people, including our family!REPORT COMMENTS

Please allow H4 spouses to work here in the United States. I would not want to waste my nursing degrees (undergraduate, master's, and doctorate) I earned here in the U.S. for 10 years.REPORT COMMENTS

Please allow dependents on H4 visa to work. It is a criminal waste of talented people. Freedom to work, live are the basic principles of US. Why does the government curtail these rights for some dependents. If more people can work that means more taxes and more social security and medicare. I urge the government to allow people on H4 visa to work. It will only do good for the economy and wont harm it in anyway.REPORT COMMENTS
