Please pass this rule ASAP! I appreciate the efforts the government has taken so far in regards to the H-4 EAD but would really like this rule to take effect as soon as possible.

Please support H4 visa holders with EAD as it is human right work and earn..it is good for individual mental and physical health and for country economy..if you feel people should not work..don't allow them in the country especially if there is intention to settle in this country as h1b visa...I think this is a very basic point in this visa category

Hi, I have been on h4 for a year. I am a highly skilled women who got married to one highly skilled man. Never knew this skill would be so hard to deal with without being able to work. I understand that H4 s know what they can do nd what they cannot while they file for a visa, but it's a mutual world. A wife becomes happy and is willing to support her husband when a good oppuryunity comes over to him and vice versa. And yes, I could hve stayed in my own county and work but till how long? I cannot stay away from my husband , neither can he. So, we can quit USA and go back. Okay, but another H1 and H4 story will begin again when some one else comes to replace us. So, USA either stop issuing H1 to skilled professionals from other countries or if you still have to issue then let their dependents work too.. It's a basic right to work and survive. This stale condition is making H4 life physically and mentally stroked. plz consider & pass the bill.

It's very depressing, after shortlisted n then come to know by an employer 'Sorry...we do not provide any Visa Sponsorship'. It means, I'm enough skilled to grab an opportunity but just because as H4 visa holder, I can't work. It's frustrating to count ourselves "unemployed" though enough skilled n educated. Requesting, plz pass the rule n let us eligible to work over here, to grow ourselves n the nation.

Please approve the EAD for H4 visa holders ASAP. I am a highly skilled woman in the US and I have seen how life of an immigrant can change for thE worst when the person switches to H4 visa in the US. Not able to work with the H4 visa literally cripples the person as it takes away their financial independence. I moved from L2 EAD to H4 and my life changed overnight. I can't understand why the same opportunities that were available to me as an L2 EAD person are denied as a H4 person. This is surely legal discrimination as per me and it is worse than racial discrimination for me as it kills me each time I feel I am not able to live up to my potential because of the H4 rule which restricts people on it to work. This is so demoralizing, I am sure to leave US if this rule does not pass soon. And I am sure there are many more people in the same boat as me. It's sad this situation exists and there is freedom of reaching their potential is actually denied in the great nation of UNites states of America! Please approve the H4 EAD rule ASAP and let us reach the new horizons we know we are capable of reaching.

Please approve this reform, we are highly skilled people but just due to the law that H4 can't work, we are sitting home and wasting our talent, skills and degree. The law should be same for all, H4 spouse cant work but a L2 or J2 spouse could work this is an injustice. If a L2 and J2 could work then a H4 should be able to work too without any eligibility criteria. Please approve the reform without any eligibility criteria. Thank you!

I have lived in the US for almost a decade now on account of education and full-time work in the Life Sciences field. I have been financially independent all this while and married to a H1-B worker for 5 years. My husband and I had been waiting for me to finish up my PhD so we could start a family. As I started my first day in my new postdoctoral position, my employer told me straight up that I should not think of having children yet as I will need to stay focussed on the job. He made me work 7 days a week for about 12-13 hrs per day. I got pregnant anyway. Employer was not happy about it, no one supported me from the administration or faculty as my pregnancy was considered to be a disability. I decided to quit, while I was still on my F1-OPT visa. I could not find another job within the 90-day grace period and prospective employers were turned off by a pregnant candidate. I lost my employment authorization, had to go on H4 and suffered from a miscarriage anyway. It has been almost 6 months that I have been on H4. I am a highly qualified and talented scientist. As the unemployment gap in my CV widens due to work authorization limitations, the less attractive I get professionally. My husband is still on 3rd year of H1. I will have to wait another 3-4 years on H1B, to receive EAD through H4 visa if and when it gets implemented. I am also requesting to please provide some kind of grace period in the OPT unemployment time for health-related issues.

With tears rolling from my eyes for the helpless situation that I'm in between i'm nt even if someone reads these comments or its going to a black hole. From 5 yrs how can a rule be pending without even giving any proper reason its baseless and unreasonable.
