Really strange rule - L2 visa holder can work but H4 cannot. Why is the discrimination? It is a shame to be qualified and sit idle because law of the land does not permit you to work but will pay dole to non working Americans.

My wife has been a stay-at-home mom for 6 years. It seems she need to stay at home for another 6 years to file the I-485. That's terrible to waste 12 year's life time. My son went to college last year, and he will be 21 year old soon. He got no work permit and any financial aids. Even the illegal immigrant like his age can legally work in US now. So I think the H4 visa work should extend to H4 child too.

There are people with Advance degree like PhD. It is unfortunate that current visa system is broken that does not allow such talent to be part of work force in US. It is discrimination in one sense.

The US Government and USCIS should shape up. Optimistically naturalization through employment H1-B would take over 10 years? For a professional with 15 years of experience it is becoming a humiliation because of all the paperwork and delays. There is technology out there to do a full background check in 30 seconds, almost globally. Please allow my family, that has education, higher than 75% of the US population to use it to its full potential. Regards

As priority dates retrogressed to ages, the future looks gloomy staying at home. Working on h4 would be a blessing.
