My 18 year old son had refused to be with ever since my divorce. It's been five years. Now that he is 18, the ONLY time he feels he can only see me is on special occasions. Holidays, etc. Then after he's been with me a few hours, he wants to hurry and go back with his dad. His dad was and is an abuser, in every sense of the word. I feel that he's got him and now my daughter brainwashed with his abusive ways. He's very manipulative and controlling. My daughter told me that when her dad does something wrong, he tries very hard to convince everybody that it is my fault. Now my daughter is doing that same thing to me, then telling me that I have a mental problem. I'd I repeat something that she had told me, to her, she would deny it, and swear up and down that she never said it. That is just the beginning of many, many issues. My daughter is now a liar like he is, and I feel that I can no longer trust her. I can go on forever, but I wouldn't have the time or space to do this here.

My daughters mother took off with her two years ago to another state and blocked me from contacting her and has kept herself hidden so I can't find my daughter, it's insanely hard not having my daughter in my life

My wife's relationship with her kids was severely harmed by years of bad-mouthing and lies from their step-mom and father. They took us to court repeatedly until my wife ended up with 2 days of timeshare each week. She was also ordered to pay child support and make an hour and a half drive each trip to get them to and from school on her timesharing days, leaving us nothing left to fight with. Now, their dad is refusing to allow us the ordered timeshare and step-mom sends texts about "mom violating court orders" and that "mom isn't responsible." Although, she never refers to my wife as "mom", its always "she". My stepchildren are in the middle of this mess. I know their hearts are breaking over being put in the middle. End this now and demand 50/50 parenting and do away with child support! Then tell parents, this is it. No going to court to change it (unless there is proven abuse). Work to train our therapists and other professionals to recognize the signs of this abuse in parents and children. Partner with professionals like Dr. Craig Childress and Dr. Richard Warshak to learn the signs of abuse and understand why it happens to the kids. Protect our children!!

I am glad to know this topic is being brought forward into the spotlight. There should be a law punishing parents for their despicable conduct. Since the Court makes decisions "in the best interest of children" it should hold parents accountable when they use their children as pawn against the other. The duty of a parent is to protect their child from harm. Exposing children to court proceedings is harmful to a child. I know from personal experience. My children have been part to an ongoing court case since 2000. They have been influenced by their mother, grand-mother, step-father, and their peers to disconnect from me and my Family. It is abnormal for any child to turn away from their biological parent. Anyone, relative, friend, or parent who causes a child to sever the parent-child relationship is a criminal.

I am at a loss as to how parents are able to get away with this. My 13 year olds dad has drug me in and out of court EVERY year with false allegations of abuse. All unsubstantiated and continually thrown out. I am now getting death threats from his family and posts on my facebook which i had to deactivate last night because his family had been posting horrible things about me for the world to see. He and his family have downed me in front of our child,he has made claims in order to keep me from my child. Has even gone as far as put me on supervised visits on numerous occasions through a court advocate until everything was done. My child barely wants to come to me on my days. I am to the point of walking away, I feel no one will help. I have 2 other children I myself have taken to dcf so they could tell the truth. This is wrong for any parent to do. The mental and emotional toll is unbearable for most involved mainly the alienated parent and the child. THIS HAS TO BE STOPPED !!!

my son is separated pays child support but the mother of my grandchildren speaks badly about him in front of the children refuses to acknowledge him as a hard working father that pays and just wants more time with his children! Everytime he has his children they have a great time until they are returned home then it's a struggle for him to get to visit again because of all the negative things that are said to them or in front of them!! Good fathers need more rights!

I'm going through a very similar situation right now. It's horrible. I can't imagine what effect this will have on my child. And our relationship. Very very sad.
