It's so stupid, and obviously causes more issues than it solves.. WHAT IS THE POINT?!?! If you all have any humanity left in yourselves, you will end this madness. -

My electric bills are higher in the summer because of DST. I live in Texas - very hot summers. I turn the thermostat up during the day while I’m gone to work because there’s no need to cool down a house with no one in it. I work until 6pm each day, and turn the thermostat down when I get home. With DST, there are about 2.5 hrs of daylight left, which causes my AC to run longer in order to cool off. If there were no DST, i’d Only have about 1.5 hours of sunlight, which would also be lower in the sky, and thus less work for my AC to cool the house down.REPORT COMMENTS

There is no reason for this. It started as a fuel saving initiative in WW1. Now there are more accidents the day it changes because people are groggy. Who likes it dark at 4:30?REPORT COMMENTS

I can sum up why to end DST in three words: Alternate work schedules If someone wishes to adjust THEIR sleep cycle to take advantage of extra daylight, let them. Leave the majority of us to enjoy our natural circadian rhythms.REPORT COMMENTS

• It has a negative impact on health. • It messes with our internal schedules. • Contributes greatly to SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) • It increases CO2 production and it’s level in atmosphere. • It is responsible for the increase in energy prices. • It complicates our lives. • Only 20% of world population uses DST.REPORT COMMENTS

I teach 1st grade, and I see how hard DST hits my students. They really struggle, many of them, for up to a few weeks. I personally have always hated and dreaded it. When we switch to Standard Time, there is no adjustment period, just relief. When we go to DST, I feel groggy and unwell for weeks. It is pointless misery which affects mood, health, and mental acuity. Why are we still doing this? And why do we keep adding on and doing it for longer?REPORT COMMENTS

Please end DST for good leave it at Spring forward and do not touch again. This is not good for the human body it is messing up our biological clocks. Not good for babies and certainly not good for senior. (Seniors heart attacks when time changes back and forth.) DST causes a lot of issues, because it throws our circadian rhythms off. It can contribute to heart disease, fatigue, increased vehicle accidents, and decreased job performances (all due to a loss or a gain of an hour of sleep!). It doesn't save energy, and it has been proven from many different sources. One source includes Quartz, whose article is right here: https://qz.com/636313/why-america-will-never-get-rid-of-day-light-saving/REPORT COMMENTS
