    I live with narcolepsy/ cataplexy. I lost my career because of its effects. It took me 5 years to get disability in Georgia as the system is so antiquated and backed up. It took me a long time to find a part time job that will accommodate me since I cannot work the hours or the varied schedule required by most.

    Shouldn't even be in question.As a sufferer of IH it is truly a life changing disease that noone understands fully the daily challenges we face unless you suffer drom this horrible disease. More education is needed and more treatment options.

    I'm a spouse of a narcoleptic and cataplexy sufferer I have watched my husband go through this before and after diagnosis his cataplexy is so severe he can't work it is a totally disability ting disorder and should be treated as such

    Not only is the absolutely necessary, I am very surprised it has not already been done. As someone who suffers from N/EDS, being able to stay awake, even a couple hours after a full nights sleep, is a constant, depressing, battle. And one that current medications/medical advances just can't fix.
