    NPR, as all of public radio/television has sponsors, i.e. commercials. They also take money from members. Do they really suck so badly that they also need our tax money? Come on, that's not right. CNN and Fox don't ask for our tax money. NPR has commercials, they just call them sponsors, same thing.

    NPR is able to defend itself and rally its listeners (I am one of them by the way) easily and on a daily basis to support its continued funding. This is unfortunate because those of us that believe it should NOT receive taxpayer money lack the resources to rally support that NPR has. NPR has played a disingenuous game for decades regarding is impartiality politically. If one looks at the political forces supporting the end of its funding (political conservatives, and budget hawks like me) vs those supporting continued funding it (MoveOn.org) it clarifies the matter. Additionally, it really should be able to stand on its own financially. NPR has argued that only a small part of its funding comes from taxpayers. If that is so it should not be a catastrophe to stop this funding. Finally, the new media forms allow less powerful voices to be heard today. NPR is less vital for this purpose now.

    Not only do we need to defund NPR we need to defund PBS as well. Enough of my tax dollars going to support the leftist, stuffed shirt drones at NPR. They all speak like those annoying, nauesating, monotone voices trying to sound like they know something when in fact they are patrionizing, condecending idiots. With zealots like Soros and corporate "underwriters" (that's leftist speak for "sponsors." It should be sink or swim. Let them sell advertising like other broadcasters.
