Also if the approval for a congressional member is lower than 50% positive for more than two quarters they're automatically removed from office at the next election and barred from running for office again.

Add in that Congressional members are not eligible for re-election if the budget has been in deficit during any year of their term.

I am so glad someone is trying to change this mess. They reap all the benefits and we reap none.

I am a teacher. I have been teaching for 33 years. I paid into Social Security for over 80 quarters as a private school teacher and in employment prior to teaching. When I retire I will retire with only 18 years paid into TRS. I will not be able to collect full Social Security. I will not be able to collect full TRS. This will be after teaching for 36 years. You, after only one 2 year term, will be able to collect a full pension, paid by me. In the meantime, teacher retirement systems are going broke. You are also a public servant and should be paid as such. You should be ashamed of yourselves for putting yourselves on such a high pedestal. We, the people who have voted for you, certainly haven't put you there. Remember, you represent us. What you deem "good enough" for the ones you represent should be "good enough" for you.

I am signing a petition stating "As a citizen of the United States, I find the actions of career lawmakers reprehensible. I believe in the vision of our founding fathers in creating citizen legislatures. I am asking you to hold our leaders past, present, and future to the same rules and limits that every citizen must follow. While I understand that this causes a hardship on you and your envisioned career, I am only asking you to be the leaders we elected you to be and make hard decisions that benefit our country and the people you represent. Congressional Reform Act of 2011: 1. Term Limits. 12 years only, one of the possible options below: A. Two Six-year Senate terms B. Six Two-year House terms C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms 2. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. 4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective the day this is signed into law. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work." and nothing more or less. Sincerely, Abe Fouhy A concerned citizen

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION---A petition for those who believe that our 'fearless leaders' should live like they expect us to- including being paid while in office only (no for life salaries--or self-voted pay raises), sharing our health care systems, and abiding by ALL laws (the ones they're passing) that we the people must follow. If it's good enough for us, isn't it good enough for them? If it weren't such a glamourous position, how many people would be out there campaigning? LOL!!!

WHY should members of Congress not abide by the same laws they impose on us? WHY the NEED for a Nr.7 on this list? Members of Congress should be accountable for their actions, their decisions, and should have a term limit, serving in Congress should not be a career life choice. It is a service to the American People and they should respond to the very people they work for....like any other job, and therefore, responding to your "boss" that is the American People, should be taken to a higher level of accountability and responsibility. PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION to actually promote CHANGE . Yes, your Signature counts, I think we have become to believe it doesn't...but it does.
