Something needs to be done, for the good of America and her citizens. Somewhere down the line, politicians stopped looking out for the American populace and started looking out for themselves. You aren't granted a free ride for life at taxpayers expense, for your term served in politics. You should have to seek gainful employment after your term is over, and provide for your own family, health and retirement package like the rest of us. You should pay into Social Security like the rest of us, if you plan on drawing a check when you qualify. This has gotten out of hand, when the budget doesn't pass, and you go on vacation, instead of staying and agreeing on a plan to rid our country of it's debt!REPORT COMMENTS

I would like to add one more provision: That all US citizens must serve in the military for at least two years active duty and four years in the reserves to be called upon during a time of war. And none of this nonsense about getting a free pass due to medical reasons. Everybody must serve. I believe members of Congress would change their attitudes about war if their sons and daughters were also those placed in harm's way. Also, military service would each individual's payment for post-high school education.REPORT COMMENTS
