This is not right. The Border Patrol performs the most dangerous and demanding duties for DHS-CBP if CBP is allowed to re allocate Border Patrol pay the effects to this country's security will be devastating.Mar 27th, 2013Someone from El Paso, TX signed.

I have one thing to say and I speak for my station because I have worked there for a number of years. If agents are not paid auo and take a 40% pay cut the borders will not be secure in the least. I work in Ajo, AZ and it is the busiest baddest station. I ask congress, senate or any of the CBP management to review our stats and challenge this. Agents at my station work an average of 10 hrs, we r under manned, drive 2 hrs to work (the school their is rated lowest in state and no hospital), our cola is lower than Casa Grande agents AZ. As I stated before the borders will be open more or less. We would have to work several shifts and we do not have the man power to do that. Attrition is high and if u cannot see that than review what I said. Maybe I will do my own documentary there if anyone thinks I am lying. We catch drugs and bodies daily and it never makes the news and I feel like the Border Patrol and CBP has already forgotten us. I say it is time we r recognized and not just because of the pay but because of what we do and do not have. Again, I challenge anyone to really review the facts here. I view myself as an honorable person, I am an officer in the Army Reserves (over 15 yrs of service) and a war veteran. I know what it is to sacrifice and I DO IT EVERYDAY working in AJO! MAYBE THOSE WANTING TO DO THIS NEED TO SACRIFICE A LITTLE AND COME WHERE I AM, ONLY THAN WILL THEY TRULY UNDERSTAND!REPORT COMMENTS

I whole hearty think instead of cuts there should be a raise given. I personally know a lot about what they go threw day to day on the job I guess some people have forgot how dangerous it can be protecting out borders especially now days! I've lived in south Texas my whole life and I will say I feel safer when I see a boarder patrol agent than when I see a cop!REPORT COMMENTS

I'm sure I can speak for most BP families when I say don't expect to receive the same amount of devotion to duty as you may see now. As far as I'm concerned, agents shall still work for their paychecks; however, they will only be working their paid 8 hours and that includes commute time. Family lives at home will not take a bigger hit so that agents can work for free and for an agency who does not support them. Make the right decision if you want to maintain a strong, healthy and committed workforce.REPORT COMMENTS
