The government leaders seem to find it do easy to make rash decisions in cutting pay and hours from those who protect and serve so diligently while giving to those and even themselves without thought. We bail out companies, let CEOs have huge bonuses without a blink but think nothing of cutting budgets of those eho protect our borders and military. The danger to our country within is rapidly increasing. Terrorists and madmen will overrun our borders if we do not protect ourselves. Let our brave men and women do their jobs with the peace of mind that they can provide for their families. Support those who risk their lives on a daily basis for our much valued freedom!

As a Border Patrol Agent I have given everything I have for this job. I have sacrificed my family time and personal time for this agency. What people dont understand is the long hours we put in into this job, the physical exhaustement we face with shift changes and the time we have to spend away from our families with the unecessary FOBs. For people who dont know what FOBs are they are extensions of our stations in which we have to go for a week, during this time we are away from our families basically obligated a couple of times a year. If you think suicide rate is high right now within the Border Patrol wait till we get our pay cut. What our agency doesnt understand is that you cant take agents salaries without notice. You all expect for us to prepare for a financial impact in our lifes in a two month time notice. I know Congress just passed a bill with enough money to cover AUO and other misellaneous cost within the agency, but apparently AUO is not important to those people who are taking this from us, and thats why, only because it doesnt affect them or their families. How about we cut everyones salary all around and maybe we can all be even. Its unfair that only the Border Patrol is getting such a tremendous cut but all other agencies are still enjoying their overtime and other pay benefits.

I have Border Patrol agents in my family. This is a disgraceful way to reward their service.

As an agent who does his job day in and day out, it is a slap in the face that we are unfairly facing punishment in the face of budget problems created by others.
