My brother and his wife both are veterans of Army. They are both hardworking individuals and they have one beautiful daughter. They have both done tours and they deserve to live in the peace of financial status that they deserve.Mar 27th, 2013Someone from Harlingen, TX signed.

Isn't that a breach of contract being hired under a certain pay with mandatory overtime @ 25% Then after agents uproot their families, move near the border and purchase homes based upon their pay. The pay Is stripped from them. My parents are afraid of losing their home, not because they got more house than they could afford but because they got a lesser home for only 15 years.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a politically manufactured crisis. Congress and this administration are clearly unconcerned with border security and even less concerned about the people who defend it. Border Patrol Agents and their families have become pawns in a political grandstanding battle. When politicians talk about the cutting of overtime (AUO) for the Border Patrol, it isn?t overtime in the way most people think. Its purpose is to allow agents to be paid for the extra work they must routinely perform tracking down drug and human traffickers and other national security threats. This has been part of an agents pay for decades. This administration wants to be able to say that they avoided furloughs when in reality the cut in AUO is much more drastic and borders on criminal. You have to question the motives of an administration that, while speaking publically about granting a path to citizenship to those illegally in this county, reduce border security presence and enforcement causing a weaker defense for our borders.REPORT COMMENTS
