It is a a disgrace to the agents and a swift kick in the face. I will be losing my home and possibly other assets I have worked hard for.

I am a Border Patrol agents wife and I live in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Due to the very real possibility of sequestration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has began taking steps to furlough employees. If this occurs, Border Patrol agents would be mandated to have a furlough day each pay period resulting in a cumulative loss of 5,000 Border Patrol agents in the field from the date of implementation. This is a serious security risk to our nation. Congress should take immediate action. CBP is also seeking to use this crisis as an opportunity to slash the pay of Border Patrol agents. This reduction in pay, coupled with furloughs, would mean that Border Patrol agents would face an approximate 40% loss in pay. No agent or thier family can sustain these kinds of cuts, to ask these hard-working men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol, who put their lives on the line every day, to endure these cuts is simply un-American. To make matters worse, it appears as if Border Patrol agents are being asked to bear the brunt of cuts at CBP. According to CBP?s plan, the cuts throughout CBP would total $285 million, of which $245 million would be taken directly from Border Patrol agents. This situation is blatantly unfair. Not only will this effect local Sierra Vista, Bisbee, Douglas, and Naco families but our local economy will take a direct hit as well. Agents are considering leaving the agency andt will negatively affect housing, retail, and service industries in our community. The public must be involved to help us avert this impending disaster. Our event will be held on Saturday, March 30th, 11:00am at Veterans Memorial Park. Sincerely, Connie Johnson- spouse of a United States Border Patrol Agent

My brother and his wife both are veterans of Army. They are both hardworking individuals and they have one beautiful daughter. They have both done tours and they deserve to live in the peace of financial status that they deserve.

Don't cut an agency to save money when the agency saves our country money by reducing the numbers of illegal immigrants who take jobs from Americans and society has to support.
