Consumer protections and bankruptcy should be restored to....at the very LEAST....private student loans. Unscrupulous and immoral lending practices....the lender/banks get Brinks trucks deliveries everyday while they force the borrower to live in the woods. Can't afford FULL payment? Oh well, they'll see in you court. They won't and don't tell you that they won't work with you if you can't find a job, or are underemployed, and oh yeah.....NO DISCHARGE WHATSOEVER. Basically, the borrower has NO rights. Zero. They will sit on you for the rest of your life trying to collect all the while they get money daily from the feds. Don't forget about that compounding interest, which makes the balance just numbers printed on paper at some point! They will garnish wages, or freeze your bank account. Bye bye the hopes of ever owning a home, marriage, car, you name it. Something needs to be done!Aug 14th, 2016Someone from San Francisco, CA signed.

This bill will relieve desparate citizens of life-long debtors prison and enable those who have been in debt for mant years to a "fresh start," as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.REPORT COMMENTS

Bankruptcy protection is a necessity if we are going to continue to allow Infilaw schools to operate in this country. Borrowing for a degree from Florida Coastal School of Law has ruined my life. Nearly half of my classmates are living in the same state of permanent helplessness. Please help us.REPORT COMMENTS

These loans are predatory and as such no way retire able. They rob us of a life, the ability to contribute meaningfully to the economy and make us poor citizens with no relief. Never knew or conceive that obtaining attending higher education and obtaining a degree would be a terminal debt sentence.REPORT COMMENTS
