While this might not be my immediate choice of action I can see it working into the future if job prospects do not work out.

I am 47 years old and have $60,000 of student loan debt. I pay $550 a month. I live in a studio and drive a Honda Civic. I don't go on vacations. I don't go out to eat. I can't even afford to have a cat. Sometimes I'm hungry and don't have any food. I don't have any savings. I can't save for retirement and will probably never own a house. If my debt isn't paid off before I retire the government will garnish my Social Security. I dream of leaving the country and starting over.

Please restore a chance at the American Dream for the millennials just like you Baby Boomers had the chance and made it.

If a degree guaranteed a job equivalent to the financial investment, then no one would find themselves in a position that would require bankruptcy. There is no reason to disallow student loans in a bankruptcy. The cost of education in this country is outrageous, but we are sold that a good education is a necessary investment and step to a better future. If we gamble on that and it doesn?t pay off, then we can find ourselves destitute. If we gamble on a higher education and it does pay off, paying back our student loans is part of the accomplishment. I for one would be happy to pay off my student loans, if only I could afford them. #StillJobHunting.
