Quit letting the Republicans allow wealthy corporations to pollute while neighborhoods of little children get cancer. They are now killers if they continue to allow this. Democrats must make clear to the American people what is happening and overcome the wealthy corporations in the Republicans pockets. Please.

I live in Okemos, Michigan 48864. My child is one of several in the area that were diagnosed with the same cancer(leukemia) within a less than 2 year time span. In fact, they all live within a half mile of each other. A few years ago I discovered that postal managers (not carriers) were applying pesticides to the inside of homeowners mailboxes in my zip code. This was done in the early morning hours and many people were not made aware of this practice which occurred for many years. Some pesticides have been banned since. I checked with other postal zip codes nearby and in some cases no spray was used while in others a can of pesticides was carried by the postal carrier and applied when deemed necessary. I was told by an expert that newer pesticides have a benzene ring that would remain in a protected area like a mailbox for a long time possibly causing many exposures from even one application. Many school bus stops are at the end of the driveway next to the mailbox in my area. I am sure some children brought in the mail on the way home from school and got exposure that way, not to mention it would travel into the house on the mail, skin and clothing. I believe this may play a part in some clusters that occur within a perimeter of certain postal zip codes. At the time of discovery, the post master told me they would stop doing this in Michigan and possibly the rest of the USA, but I did hear that it was occurring in Minnesota after that.

As a child I grew up in the area of Viola, Idaho in the 50's & 60's. As most children I had many bouts with colds and flu but I always has problems with gastrointestinal related illnesses. These plagued me for the rest of my life. In 2005 I was diagnosed with colon cancer and as a result I now have an iliostomy. Following back to the area I grew up in there is a tremendous number of my neighbors who have or have died from cancer of some sort. My belief is that we all are a victim of Hanford's "Down-winder" results. I feel that their circle of affected area is only a small patch in a huge blanket that covered the Northwest.

This is a crucial bill. We need to know what, where, and why there are clusters of cancer and illnesses.

This is absolutley essential and if anyone could put politics above this bill they do not need to be in office. They are essentially our elected officials and our children's health should be top priority in this nation. I know because my 16 year old grandson died of cancer, or at least died as a result of the treatment of cancer. I believe his cancer was environmentally induced. Katherine RouLaine

To the Trevor Trek Foundation & To the children who suffer because of the toxins in our water, air, and modified food. I live inTexas, an I support this foundation. I support the idea to attack the problem at the core itself. These COPORATIONS who contaminate our treams of water, rotecological systems. Eradicate animal specious, and destroy our land. Chemicals in our air that spoil the quality and cause cancer. I hope you understand my concern, my anger, and my will power. I love our Humanity and our land that we have worked for, lived on for generations, educated our children and love every waking moment. Please if anything can be done. I will be here. Thank you Kevin Allan Rebolledo

I have 3 children, two children born with birth defects and one with behavior/mood problems. I recently discovered that at least 5 other ladies from the area in which I grew up went off to different areas and all had birth defected children. ( I am from Fountain Valley, CA but moved to Utah before having any of my children.) Four of us are from the same street and two sets of children from different families have the same defect..two with a RARE mitochondrial disorder. Obviously there was some toxin that led to this problem. There was a park across the street from us (Mile Square Park) that was used by the government as an airport and then a military helicopter training center that could have caused jet fuel problems. Also, the park and surrounding areas were constantly sprayed with insecticides. We are trying, with Wilma Subra's help, to determine what toxins may have led to our cluster of defects. We, as parents of these children, and our children themselves have suffered greatly physically, emotionally and financially due to whatever toxins we were exposed to. We know we have high amounts of aluminum and copper that is biounavailable plus mineral imbalances. No one pays for the kind of testing we need or the supplements we chose to detoxify. We should not have to pay out thousands of dollars in medical costs and high insurance premiums (if we were lucky enough to qualify for insurance) due to others creating a toxic living environment. Our families medical costs last year exceeded $28,000 dollars largely due to the results of toxicity. Please pass this bill and help the children and thier families. It would also be helpful to have a bill to help with funding for those effected by no choice of their own. Thank you, Andrea Withers

We know this situation all too well in our small town. When do the powers-that-be stop making EXCUSES?? When will they take the time to figure out the reason WHY so MANY of our children are suffering? And, it's not JUST the children in our small town, it's also been too many young parents and teachers, who have not only suffered, but died. We've already lost 2 children this year, and it's only March. How many kids do we have to lose before they finally become more important than the 'problems' about cleaning streets or fixing sidewalks?

As a 3 time cancer survivor it is very frightening to think of a child going through all the treatments and pain. We need to protect children and ourselves as well. We can not ignore the contamination of our environment and something needs to be done.

There were 3 cases of people with brain tumors on one block in Sayreville NJ along with numerous other types of cancer all in the same neighborhood. Thank you Dupont, Hercules, National Lead, NJ Steel and all the other corporations in that area for doing this to us.

Have politicians completely sold their souls and lost their honor and dignity to the corporations? How utterly sad for them!
