As a wife of someone in the prison system all father's and husbands should have that God given right to spend time with their family. They have already been stripped of their rights and doing the time for their crime. Not simply for the person incarcerated but for their children and wife it is detrimental to remove all bonding time. At least even with that small period of time it instills in their children their love for them and will keep their children from making the same mistakes. We must consider lifers for conjual visit. Why? Because some were wrongly convicted and deserve to have to feel human again. Even those who were convicted of a crime and have spent most of their time in custody are remorseful for what they have done. All lifers are Gods people and God did not mean for man to be alone. Just maybe it would decrease the anger and violence that is spoken of in recent articles between inmates. They are people to and will live in prison all of their lives. They will never get to be on the streets to enjoy their love ones. So, with the conjual or extended family visit it will give them a little humanity back in their lives. lifers are not the only ones that suffer their love ones are also doing the time with them. Their family suffer. We need stronger families, good citizen by Instuting family extended stays to lifer they can help promote positive reinforcement to building better family and less criminals. Some have learned from their mistakes and would like to help to make our country a better and safer place for all to live in. Not all people who are lifers are quilty and some lifer would like give back for the wrong they have done. They know they will never come home and that in itself is a life sentence that is hard to live out.REPORT COMMENTS

My HUSBAND has 58 yrs to life for a crime he committed has a 19 ura old he is now 30 yrs old. We have been fighting for him to come home but its hard due to it being a police shooting... This bill will impact so many inmates in a way they will see hope and know there life isn't over . With time with their children and wives they will want to be a better person and feel not as if thier life is over . Please for families and also for officers inside the prisons this can help in many areas . inmates won't feel hopeless it can also save officers who are attacked by lifers who feel their life is over because there unable to be with there families . They'll be more worries to do better to feel their is still hope for them and their families .
