I agree that there needs to be more awareness regarding mental illness. People are so worried about the gun issues, losing them or taking them away, that many have turned their backs on the most important factor in everything. The fact that we all run off of our phsychology. We need to stand up and we need to make people aware. We need to change the way the government views and handles Mental illness. We need to stand up and make the Nation aware of mental illness. I'm tired of being discriminated against because I have a mental illness. I'm tired of the funny looks people give me because they aren't aware of what the disease is and that just because I have a mental illness doesn't make me dangerous. The care for Mental illness patients in this country is an embarrassment. Change is needed - family members should be included in care of mentally ill especially if when they are sane they sign rights to parents or significant other to intervene. Psychiatrists need to listen to family members who have to watch loved ones suffer needlessly if doctors would just listen and be held accountable.REPORT COMMENTS
