The mall was designed to showcase the United States and our depth and breadth of democracy and ingenuity. The solar decathlon is a great example of what the United States strives for in terms of pushing the boundaries of education, design and the future in general. This decathlon deserves center stage in the heart of our nation?s capital.Feb 8th, 2011Someone from Westport, CT signed.

Please allow the Solar Decathalon to proceed for this year. Uprooting at this stage of planning implies an averse lack of support while potentially discouraging the efforts in innovation and advancements in technology that our schools and nation strive to promote.REPORT COMMENTS

This innovative competition is critical to moving the US forward in alternative energy technology. It must remain center stage for the highest public visibility possible. Please keep it on the mall.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm not a student contestant myself, but I support allowing the competition on the Mall to go forward at least for the current year, with any reevaluation giving the contestants sufficient advance notice.REPORT COMMENTS

The Obama administration should take a stance to back the reinstatement of the 2011 Solar Decathlon on the National Mall, further promoting it's positive position on energy efficiency, green jobs, and the future of sustainability in the United States.REPORT COMMENTS

The Solar Decathlon matters to our future. It belongs on the National Mall. The sudden decision to move this event to another location raises a number of serious questions given the recent changes in Congress. Please reconsider this decision, at the very least for this fall's event.REPORT COMMENTS

This move makes no sense. The National Parks Services and Dept of Interior allow bigger events on the Mall at the same time. Why bump the environmentally conscious group? A potential embarrassment: there are students from all over the world participating, including, Belgium, Canada, China and New Zealand and we disinvite them from the National Mall stage? Bad diplomacy.REPORT COMMENTS

This decision is indefensible by the National Park Service. Don't lose this opportunity to support our national policy and show the world our leadership in reducing the use of petroleum and energy in general.REPORT COMMENTS
