SrA in the USAF wishing congress cared about me as much as they cared about themselves. Wasn't that the job you signed up for in the first place, caring about the citizens you claim to represent? -

I'm so frustrated at all the crap about "The Budget" or lack of money for crucial programs, schools and other necessities for the average people. So the government/congress keeps giving themselves raises while they close schools, cut funds for health care programs, such as IHSS, daycare, homes and hospitals for the disabled and elderly and so many more. "Because there isn't enough money for these programs", REALLY!! And what ever happened to they work for the people?! When is the last time "the people" got to vote on an important issue about where money should go, such as to schools, in home care and/or health care, instead of raises for the idiots who can't figure out how to pull there fingers out of their a%*'s and do their jobs, or for them to buy a new car, because obviously the brand new one from last year isn't good enough any more. If the average Joe had a job and didn't do it right or continually missed dead lines, he sure the hell wouldn't get a raise and he very possibly might get fired. So how is it that the dead line for the budget isn't met year after year and yet everyone on the board still has their job and continually gets raises and on time?! And some of them have the nerve to wine about we have to make a living too and they say "we have come accustomed to a certain life style" REALLY, so it's more important that they can live in their huge houses, continually lining their pockets and get new cars every year. While the average working person struggles to keep a roof over their families head, food on the table, pay bills so they have heat in the winter and have enough money to pay for the outrageous prices for gas just to get back and forth to a job that barely pays enough to get them through the end of each month. There should be a cap on how much they can make and if they don't meet important deadlines, or do their jobs correctly they should be penalized financially. If they continually don't meet deadlines or do their jobs then they should be relieved of their duties, and like all of "the people" if you're not working, you don't get paid. Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion.REPORT COMMENTS

It's way over due...the lawmakers in Washington work for the American people not the other way around....congress and the senate have abused the system way too long and it's way over due for reforms...I say set term limits for 6 years only...and only one six year term in only one situation...not more than one...serve then get out and let in fresh people and ideas...also, kick out the ones in there now...immediately....REPORT COMMENTS

I mean really, who needs that much when all you do is sit around on your butts all day long and sign papers, sit in board meeting and drink your tea. I am SO HAPPY they/you can sit on your butt and sleep peacefully at night while my soldier risks his life for some as lazy as you are. WAKE UP!!!! America is not as free as they say we are.REPORT COMMENTS

It's time to experience being an average American! It's not fair they get paid more than the troops, nurses, police or firefighters that risk their lives protecting them and making sure they get to keep their jobs and their lives!REPORT COMMENTS

The Founding Fathers did envision a citizen legislator who did the work of the people for the honor of serving. They were great men, not like what we have now. This nation is more divided than ever because we have a separate class making the laws. The lawmakers should be part of the citizenship with shared rules and expectations governing us all equally.REPORT COMMENTS
