    1. Allow (AOS) Adjustment of Status (filing I-485) upon I-140 approval so the candidates can use Employment Authorization (EAD) to live freely until they get their turn for receiving a permanent residency or the green card. 2. Remove the dependent visa counts from the annual green card quota for employment based immigration. 3. Remove per country limitation for employment based immigration. 4. Recapture unused visa numbers from prior years. 5. Remove age-out restriction for dependent visa holders

This is what we are waiting for. We are professionals (Medical & Technology) but having a hard time adjusting due to some restrictions even if our I-140 and I-130's are approved. Our our parents are both US Citizens and are elders and disabled and living with us. This will be a big break and relief specially with those who has pending adjustment of status in the court. We are law abiding people and paying our taxes for many years and this can also help those in the same situation.

I will re-post what Manish posted earlier. 1. Please Allow (AOS) Adjustment of Status (filing I-485) upon I-140 approval so the candidates can use Employment Authorization (EAD) to live freely until they get their turn for receiving a permanent residency or the green card. 2. Please Remove the dependent visa counts from the annual green card quota for employment based immigration. 3. Please Remove per country limitation for employment based immigration. 4. Please Recapture unused visa numbers from prior years. 5. Please Remove age-out restriction for dependent visa holders if their permanent residence

Both parties accept that legal immigration changes are mandatory to stay competitive in 21st century, but those changes were held hostage for political bargains . If nothing can be done leaders have to stand up and say that "we cant do for legal immigrants because you don't have sizable vote bank for next elections". After seeing how leaders wasted past decade by not agreeing for simple changes to law for legal immigration, I have no doubt in saying that this is not the same UNITED STATES, Where leaders had put country first than their own personal/party agendas. People are struck with same employers for years or they were not able to start businesses of their own just because they never know if they will get green card ever or no. Many employers exploit this situation that employee cant move job easily since he is stuck with green card processing.Luckily i am not one of them "Thank God". This country is reaping benefits of decisions made by some great leaders in past, who took decisions based on what is good for country and not based on what is good for elections or political party. With ageing population comes the expiry of those benefits/decisions. In order to stay competitive in 21st immigration changes are inevitable.

I have been in this country for 14 years, and still have at least a 6-7 year wait for my Green Card application to go through. The recommended actions above would significantly improve the lives and stability of my family.
