When people can stop using any animal for abuse, or fighting each other...then maybe there's a chance. But how can that happen, when we live in a system that promotes Hate, fighting, and such crimes? I have never met a mean pit. I use to volunteer at my local animal shelter and the first dogs I would go to were the pits as they were my favorite breeds. Because they were in a small contained area they were just really hyper all the time. if you were to take them out of the shelter and into a loving home it would take them time to get use to a new place yes but after a while you would see the true and loving personality of the breed that just wishes to please.REPORT COMMENTS

I am proud to be a pitbull mommy.I have rescued, owned and trained pitbulls for decades. Last year, I rescued female pitbull daughter, Chiquita, in return she gives me unconditional love and deep devotion. In fact, She detected my thyroid disease that was silently killing me and doctors ignored. This breed is easy to train and easier to love. All they want is to please. End BSL. As people might see it, put bulls are the worst dogs at the moment but they're not! As a matter of fact the most agressive dog at the moment are the chihuahuas. I have 2 pitbull mix pups and they are like my kids.. They are not harmful and very sweet.this is not right for themto be discriminated on. It's sad that while I was walking my pit bull today on a leash a Maltese broke off its leash and charged my dog. My dog calmly got low in fear and submitted and wagged its tail shortly after. I'm currently searching relentlessly to rent an apartment or house and can't find any place other than one complex which is 1300 a month with no yard. My dog wouldn't hurt a fly and is such a joyful creature and I'm afraid in a month we will have no options to rent. It's flat out ridiculous the rep these dogs get just out of the media and ignorance. Caution should be spread on all dogs and owners should be responsible no matter the breed. No way this should be this difficult to rent a place just because of the beer of my dog. The only dog I've gotten bitten by was my neighbors lab.REPORT COMMENTS

I live in a town that is near impossible to find a living space that allows me to have my year old and three year old pitbull. They are the most loving dogs i have yet to meet and have never once met a pitbull that was aggressive. but banning a breed based on the possibility of them lashing out is ridiculous because all dogs have the capability. I have met tormenting and mean chihuahuas. Remove the ban on my breed for someone raising them poorly and not knowing how to raise a pet. It should not be my fault and I should not have to suffer to find a home because of someone elses stupid actions on a dog that has never shown me a bad side.
