I am an attorney as well as a professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA), and pit bulls are by far my favorite breed. That the military employs BSL at all and, worse yet, bans a group of dogs whose members have worked it and sometimes given their lives in doing so, is shameful and despicable.REPORT COMMENTS

Breed restrictions is a form of discrimination. Pitbull owners no matter how friendly and safe our dogs are are denied home insurance coverage and denied apartment and home rentals just because of the type of dog we own. It's not right and changes need to be made. Stop discrimination & bullying the breed!REPORT COMMENTS

I have a loving chow chow mix w/ retriever but he still has a full blown blue/black tongue. I migrated to America and I left him there with my 85yr old grandma and grandpa. I would like to take him here to the USA to give him a good life because my grandparents are old, though he was not neglected... still I would like to have him here with me. I am living in an apartment who bans this breed and I agree. There shouldnt be any breed banning but at least try to give us a qualification if the dog is calm, friendly and came from a reputable breeder. My dog Sammy was about to get euthanized for being a chow. It is sad. Everyday I think of him, but the cruelty of these insurance companies and apartments are even worst!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Pitbulls are loving family pets just like any other breed. Any breed can be TRAINED to do what people fear from Pitbulls, but that's not the breeds fault. Why should we punish the Breed for something humans have done to their ansestrors? SAVE PITS!!! They love us so why not love them as well. I'm a proud pit owner and I know my pit wouldn't ever harm anyone. They're just big lap dogs. So let's all just take the time to save a loving dogs life.REPORT COMMENTS

I live in the great state of Texas, and I can't tell you how hard it is to find a decent place to live to raise my kid because I have an 8 year old pitbull. He's super sweet, has never bitten anyone, and rarely barks. He's an inside dog that is super sweet to my 3 year old. He's respectful of people when we walk down the street and of other dogs. Yet I can't find housing because I'm banned before I even applied for a restricted breed. I don't sell drugs. I don't sell guns. I've never committed a crime in my life. I work hard, have held the same job for 12 years. Why should I be held at the same standards as criminals?REPORT COMMENTS

I'm beyond saddened by the discrimination that takes place due to the restrictions. It's not just my dog that's being discriminated against, it's now my entire family. We cannot even find a place to live anymore. This is wrong!! Come on America; do something about this now!REPORT COMMENTS
