I believe pitbulls are one of the sweetest breeds out there. They are the nanny dogs (I believe that is what they used to call them) because they are attached to kids and take care of them as if they were puppies of their own. They should put a higher jail sentence to those who train pitbulls (or any dog) for fighting and maybe this will reduce or stop bully fighting for goodREPORT COMMENTS

I am a Bully breed owner that adores my faithful, loving, child. That is right, I consider him my child. He is so loving and gentle and I do believe that they are like children and the focus should be on the owners. There is a standard to which children should be raised in order to be respectful people of society and it is the same for any pet. These guys have had a bad wrap too long. If a child is abused and neglected, taught to fight and steal ..how do you think they will behave once they are an adult. Most likely they will be aggressive and dangerous but it is due to their upbringing and survival modes kicking in.REPORT COMMENTS

This very loving, loyal Breed is discriminated against day after day for no reason. Yes, there are bad humans that TRAIN THEM EXTENSIVELY to fight. They don't choose to do this. They are loyal to a fault. If an owner wants a nice, family pet, they've got it with this misunderstood Breed. If they want a fighter, they've got it. As with people one can not know a dog simply because of the breed. If they were people just would be called racism. Pit bulls are rescuers, therapy dogs,and loyal and loving family members as well as a war hero (there is a statue of of Sgt. Stubby). This manic phobia is due solely to media sensationalism and the image produced by dog fighters. get to know these dogs individually and not as an image or a stereotype. Meet the and get educated instead of running in fear and murdering them simply because of their breed-a breed in fact that is not responsible for the most dog bites in the US.
