My abusive bipolar husband was given two restraining orders against me by Judge Mizel in Ulster County Family Court. It was granted ExParte meaning it was given to him without my being present nor informed. That is until the Police came into my home to remove me from my children one night. One restraining order was to keep me from my husband, the other was to keep me from my children. He was granted temporary custody, that was 1 year and 2 months ago. By the way, our next court date is in 6 months and we are given 2 hours before the Judge. In the meantime I am not allowd to live in my home except for 5 nights a month when I have overnight visits with my two children. The accusations made against me as a Mother are false and while living in a motel or with frends I continue to fight to get my children back. My husband who is wealthy is able to continue taking our daughters to a child therapist that is paid by him and calls CPS to file complaints against me when he wants to stall the court process even further. The CPS reports have been dismissed based on no evidence. Meanwhile my daughters are growing up without me. The delay of due process and the injustice that is allowed to continue unchallenged in Ulster County Family Court must end - for the children. Antonella B. Family violence cases should be solved in a matter of days not two years. When I ran to the court house to try to save my children from our abuser, and protect myself from him, I found I had made the wrong turn. I thought the judge would save my children from their violent alcoholic father. Little did I know that judge Mcginty favors violent fathers and hands small children, toddlers and infants right over into the care highly aggressive men, with out any form of supervision. After half a year when a psych evaluation was finally ordered, I of course I answered as openly and honestly as was possible. Which was a huge mistake. I should have just lied though the whole thing just like my ex did. Psych evaluations are a joke. Now I am labeled has being paranoid while his scores are too normal to be diagnosed. The law guardians should be banned. Not one truly has the best interest of the child in mind. The children's law attorneys are corrupt, yet another facet of family court janitors. Clean up the mess and make it all go away. When a woman finally speaks out and cries for help against the domestic violence, Ulster County is the worst to seek safety and help. There is no advocacy. The cops don't believe "hysterical women". The schools don't want to get in the middle, unless of course when the abuser calls the children's teachers in to testify against the mother who's been pleading for help. The judges do not protect children from aggressive unfit fathers. Law guardian a don't speak out in the child's best interest, and CPS, child protective services, doesn't ever find sufficient evidence to support allegations of child abuse and neglect. Ulster county needs to change the system, to protect children and women from violent fathers, rapidly.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm A mother of 2 whom has children in Marlboro ny, I signed a prenup which left me with nothing, during divorce was told by Judge Work to live in NJ with my father during Divorce proceedings for half a week, leaving me driving back and forth to nj and ny for 3 years every week leaving my children with a man whom never paid any attention them all because the courts said so, they listened to the lies and ignored the truths. A phycological Evaluation was done said that I should be the parental gaurdian and have kids live with me but not if I move to NJ...My intentions were always to take take kids to NJ with me, that is where my family lives and where I'm from. I had no house, no car and no money since I signed prenup had to get help from my parents . now I'm in court because of child support.. I have my children on weekends and for the Summers pay for all they need while they are with me. I do all transporting of children , and did I add i waitress and my Ex owns a company worth 5 Million dollars and makes a yearly salary of around $200,000. Tell me the justice in that...Lawyers and Judges are buddies up and play lives of children like a game.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a good father in fact the BEST a child could ask for, I raise my daughter part time, my son 2 years old and have adopted my step son 7, whose bio father is a prescription drug abuser, I was being double and triple charged for support for YEARS! and when I petitioned the court to lower my amount the judge said to me "you don't really want to pay less do you?" they have been unfair biased and leaning toward my diabolical ex wife since the get go. They were taking 17% of my civilian and 17% of my military salary plus extra for arrears, at one point it added up to over 66% of my gross income. Now I have a tough time providing for my boys because my ex wont get a job cant hold a job because of her mean spirited ways and she relies on the UCCS people to take my money so she can live lavish in the best school district in the county in 2000 sq foot home while I must rely work 2 jobs and rely on social services to assist me in putting food on the table. this is horrible that good men, great dads are treated like criminals by a system that perpetuates laziness.... something MUST CHANGE! signed an educated concerned and loving father.REPORT COMMENTS

Just found out that if you pay $10.00 every few months you won't get your license suspended. Amazing system we have. We really need a new system, new leadership, and some judges that aren't afraid to lock up all these deadbeats. After all that they are entitled to see the children, emotionally scar these children. I am sick and tired of elected officials not doing the job they were voted in to do. I am sick and tired of favoritism in the court systems. I am sick and tired of watching innocent children fall through the cracks of justice sometimes falling to their death. I am sick and tired of innocent people suffering while guilty people walk free wreaking havoc on others. I AM JUST SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED OF ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED ISSUES! Here in America our support system has lost it's integrity to do what is honest and right. If you don't want to do your job in the manner that it should be....... FIND ANOTHER JOB! We have many college graduates who would love to fill these jobs and work on starting to make necessary changes to fix the sad state of affairs that have been allowed to come into play. Judge mcguinty needs to reevaluate his decisions and return back to the law books. He doesnt seem to be bothered that he is the first to take a child from a great parent and give to a criminal person who hasn't seen his child only twice since birth the child is 13 yrs old now, and wants to give that parent everything he doesnt deserve. not only that how can henthe judge go into a different county and remove that judge off ur trial and resume the case in his court room.
