If this company was in dire financial straits, I would understand their need for large givebacks. This is a highly profitable corporation that relies on its WIRELINE for its WIRELESS and its FIOS. Do not listen to their lies. See the truth for what it is. 45000 families have been the pawn of this company for the past year and not contributing to the nation's economy for fear of lockout or strike. This is disgraceful that Verizon, a multi billion dollar, profitable company is trying after 50 years to take away what workers have worked very hard for. The workers built Verizon to what it is today and they want to punish them and take away there standard middle class living over their own corporate greed. The CEO took a 200% pay raise (16 million increase mind you) while asking workers to give up , up to 30% of wages and pay for all of there benefits. I find this appalling. Everyone is aware that from Day 1,Verizon has not bargained in good faith, all the while knowing they were going to try to pass through the VZ/Cable deal..Doesn't anyone see that this is a no win/no win situation for not only us, but the consumer/general public?
