Unions are an important part of this countries history and success. Unions cannot be the scapegoat for bad contracts and a poor economy. The rise of this countries economic might, parallels the rise of unions and the middle class. The average worker does not get their pay and benefits through the kindness of CEO's and politicians hearts- it is earned with a voice. Dear Member Of Congress: Being on the Front line as a techician for Verizon is very frustrating as we try to serve our customers. We wait months for essential tools to do our jobs and we are understaffed as a result of all of the buyouts and cutbacks. We do our best to serve the customer and we deserve to be treated with respect by having a decent contract. Our jobs provide a decent middle class living and support many other businesses and workers who rely on our purchasing power to sustaian our economy. This contract that we are fighting for also protects retirees who dedicated their lives to Verizon, many with over 40 yrs of service. Now our company believes cutting their benefits while on a fixed income is the way to reward them. Is this how hard working loyal American workers deserve to be treated? Please do the right thing and support us in our fight for justice, our fight for fairness and our fight for the "American Dream."REPORT COMMENTS
