I am a 7 year mamogram survivor with yearly "all clear" post cards. I found my own 1 inch lump 2 mths after an "all clear" mamo. It was stage III breast cancer which had spread to my lymph nodes. I was extremly mislead with a false since of security with a yearly mamo, and a yearly "happy post card" . I was never provided the information that the radiologist and my medical doctors knew, I had very dense breast tissue! I was final informed of this by my medical doctors the year after enduring almost a year of masectomy surgery, chemo, and radiation. All women have the right to be informed of their breast density NOW. Doctors need to inform women of their breast density and if this is to difficult then the radiologist report/result from the yearly mamo should be mailed directly to the patient. Shame on the medical communtiy for not providing women with accurate information regarding their mamo results and allowing us to have a false sense of security from a "all clear" post card! Doctors remember your oath "Do No Harm."REPORT COMMENTS

Two months after a "all clear" mamogram postcard I found a 1 inch lump. It was stage III breast cancer and had spread to my lymph nodes. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and a year of additional IV drugs to prevent a reoccurance. One year after this I was told I had very dense breast tissue. My doctors knew, the radioloigst knew, but no one ever informed me! Breast densisity information needs to be provided to all women after a mamogram. If the wording is difficult to decieded then try this "You have dense breast tissue. Contact you doctor and discuss what this means to you and the reliablity of a mamogram finding a breast lump." Or better yet, send all women a copy of the report the radiologist prepares after every mamo he reads, to the patient!REPORT COMMENTS

I have first hand knowledge with my wife's late stage diagnosis of cancer invisible on her mammogram due to dense breast tissue. Please help save lives!REPORT COMMENTS

Introduce legislation to hold any medical professional who doesn't provide this information liable. When the ads appear on TV from attorneys asking, 'have you or anyone you know been denied life saving information from breast cancer screenings' this travesty will be solved. Shame on Congress for waiting this long.REPORT COMMENTS

The "lay" letter, mandated to be a summary in lay language of mammography findings, should be that - a report of mammography findings.REPORT COMMENTS
