My bf is currently serving a 2year senteƱce for a probation violation, he got a drunk in public, he was in the front yard of his brothers house an was arrested for a drunk in public which violated his probation an is now 1year into his two year sentence. He has never had a violent charge before the law is very unfair to most an fair to the ones in need of harsher sentences.. My uncle was shot in the head by my cousin, an my cousin.... he was given a year?? I am fully for this being a law an given the nonviolent offenders less time an violent inmates more! When I was younger I was a misfit I didn't have a normal life, I was raised in violence, alcohol, drugs, an abandoned by both parents an then placed with my granparents at age 8 they were 50, I end losing one at 15, to me it felt like everyone left me an everyone always would, so i acted out was a misfit a good portion of my life. It could have been different i just didnt have the help that was crucial. I end up pregnant at 16 an 19, married at 17 an with a really bad controlling physically an mentally abusive man . I wish there was a program that could have educated me on how to stay out of trouble like the one this offers. I believe this will be great to better this new generation an guide them to success an away from incarceration. As adolescents we need the direction, guidance, help, an understanding on how to break the generational curses an the way of this world an the way we were originally taught how to be an live. Our minds need to be re wired an showed right from wrong an the outcome of the road we are taking. We at that age just do an don't look at the bigger picture an reality of things we just act without thinking. These teens are an have been in desperate need of of this type of education that this petition offers..I pray that people will see the good in this an what could come of this. An actually think on this before having negative thoughts because if they think on it they might find that this could save one of there loved ones life, of poor decisions an incarceration or even there own childs!! We can't always protect are children an keep them out of trouble but we can teach them how to make smarter choices an teach them how to keep themselves out of trouble. I now have children an have dedicated myself to god an if we had this law then when i was a teen, an I was able to get educated on how to make a better life an stay out of trouble I believe I wouldn't have had such a hard life before I had found jesus. I pray everyone will look at the bigger picture an atleast try somethin new because things are getting worse, it wouldnt hurt to give this a shot an IF things went south laws can always be changed!

I dont understand how you can get charged for the neglect a Correctional does when he is supposedly in charge of S.H.U. and no two people are suppose to ever be let out at the same time! Then lets two people out they get in a fight how is that the inmate fault when he isnt suppose to out of his cell for any reason when another person is out ever. Isn't. Then the C.O. fault? For negelet? Then give the guy 6 yrs for the C.O. mistake and not fire the C.O. ? Only in Sacramento CA. Thats how dirty the Female D.A. is here in our city and the Attorneys that party with them that should of be a conflict of interest case!
