As a horse lover and worker in the industry, humane horse slaughter is a necessity that alows the continuation of the industry and wellfare of the horse. Too many people love their horses but are in a situation that they can no longer care for these. Humane, regulated slaughter is a much better option than a slow painful death due to mal nutrition and inadequate medical care.Oct 20th, 2011Someone from Weatherford, TX signed.

America owes a lot to the horses, and it is a shameful practice to pack them together, send them to mexico to be hung upside down and beaten to death. Horses deserve a better end that to be beaten to death so that humans can eat themREPORT COMMENTS

As a horse person I strongly feel that this is an option that is needed in the industry. The public may not like the sound of the word "slaughter", but the reality is that something like this is needed for many of the reasons presented in the report.REPORT COMMENTS

Closing the slaughter plants has resulted in far worse abuse & neglect than killing them. We have to have a market for unwanted horses.REPORT COMMENTS
