This long, on going abuse of this poor animal is inhumane, inadequate and basically solitary confinement. She is alone and needs the companionship of her kind. This poor, isolated elephant needs better housing, contact with other elephants, since they are a highly social group of animals. To have Tania live with such horrific care in distress is inhumane. Romania has just about THE worst reputation of animal care and concern in that part of the world and really should be advised by nations that have a conscious mind of the welfare of all animals should tell these people what it means to consider the welfare of these animals. This includes benefit of an economic rise to a nation that people may want to visit. However right now, by the indignant treatment of Romanian animals, including those such as Tania, captive in a zoo without sufficient care, horses that are starved and beaten daily by their owners, dogs and cats being rounded up and shot or poisoned and hung. These are not the actions of a civil nations thoughts of animal welfare. Nor is this a place where any human with a civilized brain would l d wan t to go see.
