I watched another horse collapse in a race at Del Mar today, 7/23/2016. I also witnessed the fall of a horse on 7/25/2014, knocking off other riders and attempting to run with a broken leg, riderless. I will NEVER step foot on a track again or watch another horse race again. Enough is ENOUGH. Regulation..protect these beautiful animals from greed.REPORT COMMENTS

Just witnessed a horse at Del Mar opening day fall then try to get up trying to walk with her arm flying like a ragdoll attached to her. She was so unaware and confused at why she was unable to walk. Just witnessed a horse at the Del Mar 2016 opening day races that snapped it's leg and could not understand why it couldn't walk in the 6th post. I was so upset by this that I am not signing any petition to ban these races. It was my first time attending a race and before this I never knew about the world of horse racing. I won't be attending anymore races. I'm positive they will put this horse down and will not attempt to put it through rehab or let it live a long peaceful life.REPORT COMMENTS

About 1,000 horses die on racetracks in the US every year. That's just on race tracks. And that's just in the US. If that many baseball players or basketball players died during games then they would be banned. But just because it's "only" horses... then, we are not supposed to care?
