I learned in 2007 that where my family once lived was next door to a site where a nuclear meltdown occurred and was kept quiet, and to add insult to the injury, this knowledge came to me one year after the deaths of both of my brothers. Upon learning this news, I began my years of research looking for help only to find out none is available. While we lived at this house, our water came from the well at the same location. During the years we lived there, my Father was chronically ill. Later he was diagnosed with a radiogenic cancer. One of my brothers was also diagnosed with a radiogenic cancer, the other with cardiovascular problems. I read all the reports on this site and connected the dots. I support this bill, children are the most vulnerable, it is our responsibility to provide them with clean air, water, and soils, along with the best medical care possible. The main problem with chemical and/or radioactive contamination is the fact that the cancers may not develop until years later. In my family's case, we had moved out of the area and never knew that a lawsuit had been settled out of court. Since many of the chemicals and radioactive isotopes are mutagenic, this leaves me wondering if my descendants will be subject to birth defects or worse childhood cancers.Jul 13th, 2011Someone from Palm Coast, FL signed.

This bill needs to pass...right now there in a Cancer Cluster being investigated in Marine City MI but they are saying not enough funds to check for all chemicals. This town has 5 children diagnoised with Wilm's Tumor a childrens cancer that usually only affects 500 children in the nation per year. Help the children now and in the future please..
