Gastroparesis is such an unknown serious illness and NEEDS to be recognized and NEEDS more information to be known by doctors about it because there a so many doctors that dont know or has no idea what to do to be able to help to treat it, or so few people who knows anything about it, I believe if it is better known and more education for awareness there could be more options to help people whom have it, Something needs to be set up medically for people whom cant afford what is out there to be done about gastroparesis, there needs to be more help for people whom have it and allowing August as Gastroparesis month would be a great first step and much needed attention for others to become aware how hard this disease is on people and how hard it is to go through it, and also how hard it is to find any doctor whom knows about it, It can kill people, it NEEDS to be a better known I agree it NEEDS to become a well known medical illness that should be also known as a silent killer if goes without proper treatments or medical attention for it. My daughter has it and I am very upset and feeling helpless about it and its very hard to find doctors who even has a slight idea about it or they are far away from where we live. I can't go to the emergency room or the hospital because the doctors there doesn't know what gastroparesis is .The last time I went to the emergency room I was told that I wasn't a emergency that I didn't look sick so they discharge me from the hospital .
