As a nurse that has worked in Maternal/Child Health for 25 years, I have personnaly seen the devistation that can happen when a mother's life is lost during childbirth. Havign this data collected in a uniform way will allow for our nation to study and evaluate ways to improve and save lifes of new mothers. I highly support this initiative.Oct 1st, 2010Someone from Des Moines, IA signed.

Protect mothers and respect their "right to choose" HOW and WHERE they will birth their babies and we might yet see our maternal mortality rates drop to a level that isn't mortifying.REPORT COMMENTS

I am active duty military. My wife died in childbirth while we were assigned to Australia. This was during a "routine" C-section that resulted in a hemorrhage the surgical team could not control. Please understand the importance of this issue. We have three children that will now have to grow up without their mother.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a very simple and logical request: require the accurate reporting of maternal deaths. Only then can we begin to improve outcomes.REPORT COMMENTS
