Not fair that folks who took credit in 2008 , received a true credit unlike those of us who received a loan.REPORT COMMENTS

Purchased a first time home in August 2008. Pretty upset a few months after people get an extra $500 and don't have to pay any back. I was pretty sure there would have been an appeal by now.REPORT COMMENTS

I bought my house on December 8, 2008. Just a few months later I hear that The government is giving away 8,000 "grants" that do not have to be paid back. This is 100% unfair! I have paid $500 for the last 7 years (8 years now), i do not even care about the last 7 years. just cancel out the remaining debt.REPORT COMMENTS

This is not fair! I purchased this home in 2008 and I lived in it for 7 years and I should not have to repay the credit considering that other purchases made after 2008 did not have to repay the credit! This is putting me in a bind now that I'm disabled and sold the home and I am obligated to pay the remaining amount in a lump sum which I cannot!REPORT COMMENTS

IRS, please forgive this debt. It is unreasonable that people who received the credit in subsequent years do not have to pay it back. When I'm finally able to sell my house, this debt to the IRS is going to cut into my meager profits.REPORT COMMENTS

It does not make sense that those who received the $7,500 have to repay this amount while others within less than a years time received $8,000 and do not have to pay it back. The 7,500 should be forgiven.REPORT COMMENTS

Purchased my home July 2009, and guess what have paid 500$ for the last 5 years because the IRS refuses to correct that date in their system. They have July 2008. On my way to file a suit against them this week in district court. Complete fraud agency.!!REPORT COMMENTS

The whole idea of this credit was to spur the economy so why are the first people to take these steps being penalized? Not only do they have to pay it back when subsequent year users do not, but they were also allowed less of a credit. Why not make the rule apply to all, either all participants of the credit pay it back or none do?REPORT COMMENTS
