We are in desperate need of funds for research. While I am currently stable, I didn't respond to many of the current meds out there. If/when my disease goes active again, I don't have a lot of options for treatment. I know there are some promising research projects going on, but without funding, they won't be able to continue and if they fail, no new ones will ever be discovered. So many high profile diseases get all the money and they already have so much donated to them and have so many treatment options already. As a Scleroderma patient I went thru a decade of being misdiagnosed before doctors finally recognized systemic Scleroderma & RA.. Even now most doctors don't know anything about this disease.
