I am outraged that animals are considered property and that individuals in power consider animals less deserving of justice when some LOSER decides to mistreat their pet. Animals feel pain just like we do. They are no less worthy of love and affection. In fact, they deserve it more than humans. Animals love us unconditionally, battered or not. I love my furbabies and would beat the hell out of anyone who hurt them. I honestly believe if you aren't gonna go back to the old belief of "an eye for an eye" and do the exact same thing to the abuser that they did to the animal then they should be charged with a felony and get the same kind of time that an individual would get if they had behaved this way towards a human. Wake up people. Get these psychopaths off the streets and where they belong...IN PRISON or with a needle in their arm. This animal abuser needs to pay for what she has done. There is no justice for animals if the law continues to allow these animal abusers to get away with their crime. It sickens me that the lives of these animals are being treated as if they don't matter. If this was done to a human being we know this person would be in jail. Why does the law exempt people from animal abuse. How can we put an end to animal abuse when the law doesn't care about the well being of animals. The human race is a such a disgrace. LAWS for animal abuse and animal neglect NEED to be changed. Animals should NOT be considered PROPERTY. They are living creatures felling pain like humans.
