Our service men and women in the military have sacrificed and endured. Coupled with responsibility however is the mandate to be respectful and honorable. Incidents of indencency and situations whereby human beings and animals were tortured is totally unacceptable. Responsibility must be taken and consequences for these actions without question. I am sorry to read in this petition the words,"instead of exhibiting behavior of a child or a mentally ill person"....these words are completely inappropriate. The writer was feeling what I feel, but to blame innocent groups of people is not correct or fair. Children can have more compassion than most adults if they are raised with proper respect for all life. The same is true for people with disabilities, they will generally show more sympathy than the not-disabled group. It is obvious that no children nor disabled people were taunting this poor dog, but trained soldiers....so the conclusion is that they were acting like trained American soldiers...? Horrid to think that so many of our military men and women are acting in sadistic ways. We used to be a nation of honorable people, did we not? What happened? Is our military training so callous, so self-righteous, that we have de-evolved to this kind of behavior?REPORT COMMENTS
