I am sick and tired of seeing all of these animals euthanized because of illness. This HVAC system would help to decrease this problem. If it isn't bad enough that the city has cut funding for the shelter so drastically that the animals are not being taken care of properly. Now, you are stealing money that was supposed to be for the shelter and using it for showers. I am tired of my taxes being used on this type of unnecessary luxuries for the Council members. I used to live in Dallas and followed the distemper outbreak this time last year, that they never admitted was in the shelter. I really am amazed at the apathy shown by the city leaders and mayor of Fort Worth when it comes to the animals who wind up in their deadly shelter system. There is no reason why the HVAC system should not be updated, so more animals don't get sick, and can instead go on to find loving homes. The Dallas shelter is making a concerted effort to save more lives, and they are making headway in improving their kill rates. Why can't Fort Worth do the same? It really is shameful.REPORT COMMENTS
