President Obama has spent less than any other president in DECADES. Leave Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid alone. Get rid of corporate welfare (no more subsidies to billion dollar corporations, and punish them is they send jobs overseas), tax the wealthiest 2% at a higher rate, give the middle class a tax breat, and tax capital gains like income. This would completely erase the deficit and help the middle class, which would in turn help our entire economy.REPORT COMMENTS

Protect these benefits. They are not entitlements. We, and the President have done our part, and now the Republican congress should be asked to actually do theirs.REPORT COMMENTS

It is seriously time for you men and women of the Congress to stop asking the President to get real. Its time for you to Pony up and not only take a significant pay cut, also take a 50% reduction in the amount of money we are putting into you and your families health care and start putting your own money into it. On top of that get rid of the Pension System for anyone who has not been in office for at least 10 yrs. You must be vested in the plan for 10 yrs or you will not receive any payments. That would be a good start to fiscal responsibility from you to begin with. Then we can address the other issues that need refining. When you decide that men and women who have been working since the age of 15 like myself mean something to this Country and the reason you have arrived where you are today, then you deserve respect and assistance from US. Remember you can't put the USA on anything without US. Its not about YOU!!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

We've worked hard for many years and paid into what you are calling entitlements. Had you not dipped into our Cookie Jar, there wouldn't be a problem now. How about all of the elected officials give up your lifetime benefits instead???REPORT COMMENTS
