Because my daughter in law doesn't' like me, she creates drama between my son and I. Makes me out to be the bad guy. This keeping my 1st and only grandchild away from me. She has managed to chase all of his friends and family away. Its all about her and her family, no one else is good enough! My grandchild will be 6 months this month, WE DO NOT KNOW EACH OTHER AND THIS PAINS ME TO NO END. HEARTBROKEN GAM GAM!

Its not the parents that wont let me have him or to assert what his best interest is is the way cps said I had no rights then taking me 2 months to find out they broke every law in the book in regards to families. As well as cps basis their suspensions on police officer reports hearsay evidence checks out nothing , including documents to the courts all lies they are social workers with degrees make good salaries they fail to investigate properly lie to your face and is this good behavior like they don't have a spell check on their computers. Laws arent based on suspected phone calls or police officer reports they are based on facts. Where are the attorneys or the judge in that matter not objecting to unfounded hilarous misspelled reports. Where is the lawyer for the child who supposed to be protecting him. This is a county corrupt issue which nobody in the county dares come to help you. U have to seek lawyers who are from miles away or find a class action lawyer to help you. In this county to evict you from your house you have a proof of service filled out and returned to the court as well as an eviction paper stamped with the county seal by removing a child from your home you are served with a warrant with no county seal or court seal and a blank proof of service no date name no address like I said its blank. So what's that saying its more priority to evict someone than it is to take a child. My question is my title is only grandmother why dis it take me 4 mints by going to the library researching the internet when all cps could of done is followed the law ny presenting a letter and procedure of families in child abuse cases. I do have rights and so does every grandmother in this world. We are part of the 5 kInship.

It's unfair to both grandparent and child when these rights are taken, they need us as much as we need them! It's unfair these parents don't realize or don't care how much the children hurt from this. Please give us grand parents rights!

If we (the grandparents) want to be in the childs life, let us. We are the link to your past. If we are not physically, sexually, or mentally abusing your child, let us be a part of his life. Don't hold grudges for the past. Be a better person than that. YOU WON'T REGRET IT IN THE LONG RUN.

I have 3 grandchildren I don't get to see. It is my oldest son's children. My son has mental problems and has these children by 3 different women who when divorcing him tell me they would never keep me from seeing them. I took care of my oldest grandson during his visitation with my son. The women become angry at my son and decide to keep him from our family. The only thing I can do is pray one day they will come back but for now I have no rights and my heart hurts everyday because of this. This should be changed. Every child should be able to spend time with their grandparents and know both sides of their family. Please reconsider the law and allow me and other grandparents to see their grandchildren.

I am with you all the way....For I have experienced the same behavior from mothers of my grandchildren, whom I raised -- one from six weeks to for 16 years. I am now the accepted grandma only because my grandchildren are grown, and are giving their mothers the "flux"...well, what goes around sometimes comes around.. That's not to say that I am happy that the biological mothers are having to deal with the grandchildren, but, maybe now they will show them their love....mine is a very long story, too much to share, however, I am in total agreement with "Grandma Bo's Law", and will work with you in all of your endeavors in this area.

The selfishness of a parent should not be able to dictate whether a grandfather or grandmother can see their grandchild because it can be detrimental to an elderly person's health and the child's mental well-being to be kept from the natural bond that is shared between a grandparent and their grandchild.

My ex husband has custody of my daughter. She absolutely hates him. She wants to live with my parents but here in NE, there are no "grandparents rights". He was supposed to grant them more visitation with her, but instead he has decreased their visitation (because she wants to be with them and not him) and it is VERY detrimental to my parents and my daughter. If they could do something, they would....but they don't have "grandparent's rights". They even spoke with a caseworker with CPS and she told them that they should have more visits with my daughter, but my ex-husband has yet to comply.

I am all for grandparents having rights. Sometimes that's all the poor grandchildren have to depend on. Today is full of grandparents raising their kids' kids and they deserve to have someone give them a voice as the loving and caring grandparents they are.

Time is long over due for grandparents to be looked upon for the priceless jewels that they are. Please do all you can to vote in on the bill for grandparents rights in the state of Al where my sister is struggling and grieving everyday over not being allowed to visit a baby that she practically raised for his 17 yr old dad and 18 yr old mom (at that time). the parents are now angry over some petty issue and have ceased to let the child visit his grandma. Please help!!

Sometimes the very person a child can really depend on is Grandma. Grandparents are SO important to the well-being of their grandkids. And some grandkids are DEEPLY attached, as I was to my grands. But there are those who are mean enough to not allow their child to experience the love and devotion of these wonderful people. I am so fortunate to have had the unconditional love of my grandparents, and I miss them so much as they rest in the arms of Jesus now. Please pass Bill #32 so that all children can know the love and care of their grandparents as I did.

Senators and Representatives: Those of you who are grandparents must know the pain my mother is going through at not being allowed to visit with her grandchild, Kobin. To be honest, she is the ONLY stable factor in his life, and surely Kobin misses her as well. He ADORES his Grandma Bo and she has nurtured him since he was 6 wks old. Please pass the law that allows those grandparents who really make a difference to be able to love their grands. Thank you for your bill.

My mother is a grandma who is fighting daily to visit her grandbaby, as my son is angry with her about something stupid. She is the one who began this petition. We both miss Kobin b/c he is the light of her life. She has my son also to love and nurture, but she misses her other grandson. She told me that she LOVES my baby, but that she has TWO and not ONE and she needs to see Kobin also. I understand her completely.

I was raised by my grandmother. Had it not been for her, I probably would have been placed in foster care with people not biologically related to me at all. I owe her everything and am so gratful to her.

I have been through this before and it isn't right for anyone to withhold seeing a child from their grandparents it not only hurts the grandparents but it also hurts the children. Usually the child is told that the grandparents are either to busy working to see the child or that they just don't want to see the child and both are not the right answers every grandparents want to be in the life of their grandchildrens lives don't let this go on any longer the parents use this withholding so that they can get what they want from their parents or either to hurt them both are very wrong. please fix this give the grandparents rights to see their grandkids most of the time they are better for the kids than the parents ever could be.

Grandparents should have a right to see their grandchildren if they are not part of an abusive relationship that would endager the child.

Grandparents should have rights to see their grandchildren. My grandparents were denied rights in 1974 and never got the see their son's kids. Things did not turn out well for the kids either. One is a theft and the other took his own life!
