It is time we make Daylight Savings Time the new Standard Time. The United States already is on DST 8 months of the year. How can something be in place 2/3 of the time, and not be considered the standard. Instead of changing the clocks back in November, let's do away with traditional Standard Time. DST should be the new standard and end the practice of moving clocks forward or back.Oct 31st, 2016Someone from Saint Louis, MO signed.

I would not be surprised if it reduced the number or severity of cases of seasonal affective disorder. I am on board.REPORT COMMENTS

The idea of having one day out of the year that is 25 hours, so that we can make it get darker, earlier, everyday, during the winter time, when we are already lacking in sunlight, is a very abnormal concept. Doing this to achieve "standard time", which only happens a third of the time, is just cruel irony. It is pointless, useless, and even detrimental to people's health. The fact that we continue to do this is just a blatant example of congress's inability to enact any simple, common sense legislation at all. There is no partisanship to this issue whatsoever. Can we please just make this change, it doesn't matter what your political affiliation is, I'm pretty sure you hate this. Can we please make this change already?REPORT COMMENTS

WHY is there still "Standard Time"?!? No one wants this. Why is this even a discussion?! Just end Standard Time and make Daylight Savings Time the new "Standard Time". This is a major issue especially in the northern states where daylight is so precious during the winter months.REPORT COMMENTS

People asking to end daylight savings time may be asking to end standard time, and make daylight savings time standard. Bottom line, pick one time and stick with it. PLEASE!REPORT COMMENTS

Daylight savings time allows for doing outdoor activities and exercise in the evenings when the whole family is home from work and school. It is beneficial to our health to keep DST year round. Also, less crime during DST part of the year.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm certain, from reading the comments, that the majority of folks signing that other petition titled End Daylight Saving Time (which has over 30,000 signatures) are really wanting to end Stardard Time. It's been time to end this practice for a long time now. Ten or so years ago, DST was made to last longer (as an experiment?). It won't be catastrophic to just flip the switch and make it permanent.REPORT COMMENTS

Increased exercise, activity, and shopping in the evening hours will be good for both individual health and the economy. End standard time and keep DST in effect year round.REPORT COMMENTS
