Its inconceivable to me that wily members of Congress, who can speak for an hour to crowds, hoping to seek reelection or some favorable outcome, can't bother themselves to turn a merciful eye towards the thousands of animals who endure agonizing torture , before death, every day in Asian countries. This is not a 'cultural' thing. Dog Meat torturers, purveyors decided a Dog Eating Festival would be good promotion of their sadistic business! This needs at least a plea to say, your American constituents are set on stopping all trade to countries which do not have laws and enforcement against this barbaric trade. Show some mercy. I don't agree. The USA should have no right to interfere with another Country's culture. Plus the desensitizing argument is invalid because all other meats are treated the same way.
