If the dogs serve their country and their 'soldiers', they deserve to be honored, and live a retired life of leisure, paid for by the government of the United States. To deny those military personnel who wish to retain or reacquire their canine partners, or any other adoptive owner who is qualified willing and willing to take in such an animal is an unconscionable act of cruelty to both dogs and people.
