Caylee's Law

Messages Sent So Far
Caylee Anthony was missing for a month and during that time she was never reported as missing. A strict law should be in place that charges a parent or caregiver with child abuse or neglect if a child is not reported missing within 24 hours after the moment of knowledge that the child is missing or failure to return home when due from event or visitation. We need make it a felony for parents or caregivers to not report the death of a child to authorities -- accidental or otherwise -- within one hour. It also would make it a felony for guardians to not notify law enforcement of the disappearance of a child within 24 hours. Children depend on the parents or the caregivers to see to their safety and well being. It is clearly not in the best interest of a child to fail to report they are missing. This is clearly a case of neglect to fail to report a missing child. We the citizens of our great nation understand that these children are our future. Our future should be more protected.

I am asking anyone who agrees with this to help in establishing a Caylee,s Law so that no child's life is ever so tragically erased or ignored again. If we don't establish a Caylee's Law more missing children could go unreported.

I believe with the world the way it is today that any child with unknown where abouts longer than a half hour is unacceptable much less 24 hours. Any child that goes unreported and is found harmed in any way, that child's gaurdian should be held accountable for neglect at the very least. I think there should be no bails, maximum time served for any that do not report an incident of a missing child. The children of today are this country's leaders of tomorrow. They should not be taught that a parent can "misplace" their child and be let free with no consequences. If the parents fail to report a child missing it is this country's responsibility to speak for and defend that child's right to a long and safe childhood. There is no doubt that Caylee's tragedy would have ended any differently, however atleast her spirit would rest at peace knowing that she recieved atleast an ounce of justice that an innocent three year old would deserve. I believe that this law will give her that along with any other child that has endured this type of trama. We can only hope that the fear of facing criminal charges will reduce the number of missing, abandoned, and children harmed. Even one child that benefits from this law is a huge difference! No doubt the problem will disappear but it is our reaponsibility to try to make a difference.
